How does the free trial work?

When you create a workspace you enter your card details securely through Stripe and your 14-day free trial begins. You won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then from the billing portal — no charge, no questions.

Do my technicians need their own accounts?

Yes — each team member gets their own login with a role (owner, manager or technician, or a custom role you create). Technicians only see the jobs assigned to them, keeping customer and financial data private.

What happens if I lose signal on a job?

Nothing stops. The app is offline-first: you can read your jobs and keep working — updating tasks, logging time and recording parts. Your changes are saved on the device and sync automatically when you're back online, even if you closed the app in between.

How do customers pay me?

You can send a secure card payment link powered by Stripe, or record a cash or bank-transfer payment manually. Connect your own Stripe account and card payments go directly to you — you're the merchant of record, paid straight into your bank. Either way it reconciles against the invoice, and everyone with the right role is notified when it's paid in full.

Do my customers get anything online?

Yes — every customer gets a private portal, on your own web address and in your branding, where they can follow their job's progress, view their invoices and payment history, download the PDF and pay the balance by card. They sign in with a secure magic link sent to their email — no password to set up — and that link is included in every invoice and reminder you send. You can point it at your own domain (e.g. portal.yourbikeshop.co.uk) with your logo and colours, so it feels like part of your business.

Is my data safe and GDPR-compliant?

MechanoMan is built GDPR-first for the UK and EU. Each business's data lives in its own isolated database. We record consent, let you export everything held on a customer, and support right-to-erasure — anonymising personal data while keeping the financial records you're legally required to retain.

Can I file my VAT and tax through it?
